Square and Compass
The Square and Compass (or, more correctly, a set square and compass attached), is the only symbol that identifies more Freemasonry. Both Square and Compass, are tools of the architect, and are used in Masonic ritual as symbolic emblems to teach the lessons.
Some Sellers and rituals explain these symbolsAs lessons in conduct:
For example, Masons must “frame its actions by the square of virtue” and learn to “circumscribe their desires and keep their passions within the limits for the entire humanity”. In Freemasonry, the Square of righteousness, or integrity of character, bounded by two lines: the horizontal and vertical.
Horizontally, represents the path to go on earth, that is, in this life, the physical field.
Vertically, it represents the endless path, which leads to the Cosmos, the Infinite and God.
The Compass, in turn, symbolizes balance, justice, life correct.
As instruments measurement, The tools represent the trial and discernment.
