Transport, telecommunications and utilities account for 8% of GDP of the state, employing around 487 thousand people. Hydroelectric and e nuclear produce each about 25% of the electricity generated in the state. Thermoelectric a coal and gas are responsible for producing 20% of the electricity generated in the state each. The rest comes from coal oil and imports of electricity generated in Quebec, Canada.
